August 27, 2009 Arkhangelsk is delighted to host the cruise ship MS Albatros (which belongs to the German Cruise Company Phoenix Reisen). It is not the first ship that the company chooses to send to the Russian North, but by far the biggest. The ship started its journey in the Baltic Sea, heading north along the Norwegian cost, all the way through the Barents and the White Sea into the delta of the Northern Dvina. After a day in Arkhangelsk, the vessel stops at the Solovetsky Archipelago before going back home. | |
